Our Story

Hello, we’re the family behind The Sugar Shack, Simon, Mandy, Molly and Greg. We opened our doors in November 2025 with a few simple aims: make a living, have fun and provide a nice experience for our customers. The strapline of 'making life sweeter' tries to encapsulates this. After nearly 30 years in the prison service, Simon decided he wanted a complete change and a new adventure we could all share as a family. Mandy brings the creativity with her beautiful decorations, while Molly and Greg help keep the shop full of energy, so there’s always a friendly face ready to welcome you in.

The Sugar Shack has grown into a colourful treasure trove packed with more than 200 varieties of sweets, from old-school favourites that bring back memories to new treats we love discovering. We’re also proud to stock some amazing Dorset produce, including drinks from The Dorset Ginger Company, local jams and marmalades, traditional shortbread and biscuits, and delicious Purbeck chocolate and honey.
